Rapid Shot MP5 Wii Controller

The way the Wii revolutionized video gaming over the past few years is one of the main reasons why it’s still wiping the video game industry floor with its primary rivals, the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. It’s no surprise how third parties are coming up with Wii accessories left and right. This one, however, is bound to catch any hardcore gamer’s eye — the full-scale Heckler&Koch MP5 submachine gun accessory.

The new Wii accessory was unveiled by a Chinese company at a recent trade show in Hong Kong. It bundles full Wiimote, nunchuck, and Motionplus functionality in it, and sounds and rumbles when played with certain supported games. The only unrealistic bit about the accessory is the bright orange tip on the end of the barrel — just to make sure, its creators said, that police and other figures of authority don’t arrest or shoot the player by mistake.

We are not kidding here, you can own a Rapid Shot submachine gun peripheral for the Nintendo Wii.  Not only does this look like a Heckler & Koch MP5 machinegun, but it will also have a detachable magazine for batteries of course and a built in speaker and rumble for that added little bit of realism to your next shooter for the Wii.  But one thing as you scan over the picture where does the Wii remote go?  Well with this peripheral there is no need to attach your controller to it as this replaces it. Now this isn’t for the youngsters of the house as it does have a M rating attached to it.

  5. Yeah, duck hunt would be awesome. Otherwise, I wouldn't really think of the Wii as a console for shooters.

  10. I am happy to see that it has an M rating attached to it; yet at the same time I have to say I'm a little shocked. I'm not shocked over the release, it's a cool concept and cool design, but the platform. Wii is generally SO against any M ratings and realistic violence that the platform has an incredibly limited library; therefore to have a peripheral of this design is surprising, to say the least.

  12. Haha the wii will do anything to survive the PS Move and Kinect. Don't think a gun is going to do it though.
